The classic book ‘The Art of War’ by Sun TZU, has been read by countless business people over the years, many great empires being built through the use of the stratagems and ideas embedded in the text.
There is one sentence that is so applicable in the art of obtaining more traffic to a website, so true, that it is worth highlighting to all –
‘If we go where the enemy is not, we may go a thousand leagues without exhaustion’.
There are of course many ways of applying this tactic in the marketing arena, but when it comes to harnessing the power of Google, in order to obtain traffic and the business that this leads to, it really does make a lot sense.
How can you employ this tactic? It is not as difficult as you may think. It does require a deal of research and clever optimization techniques, but when correctly employed, it can result in a huge improvement to the bottom line of any business.
Think of it as getting through the unguarded back door of a castle rather than trying to besiege it, taking the treasures within by stealth rather than ‘force of arms’.
It really can work…
