Google Makes Breadcrumb Navigation Even More Important
Google is in the process of changing the way they display search results. This time they've decided to change the actual URL of the page you're about to click on to something that is more user friendly. Here's an example (image courtesy of www.searchenginenews.com.)

The new look links are created by pulling the 'breadcrumb navigation' from the site (this name comes from the Hansell and Gretell fairy story about a pair of brother who find a house made of candy and cake in the forest, plus a child devouring witch - nice !), which in turn means that potential visitors know that allrecipies.com has a recipe for chili and recipes for Soups, plus Stews and Chili as well.
Using breadcrumbs was always a good idea (as it helps visitors find their way around a site - a psychological boost as well - as they 'know where they are and can in a sense 'see' the exit and their path around the site) but now there is more as any breadcrumb categories displayed in the search results are also links to that page within the site. As this could give rise to 3 or more clickable links in your site's listings there can be no better time to install breadcrumbs on your site.
